Too good to pass up! So many times we are given furniture that needs some tender, loving care in order to give it new life. Sandy, one of our Elite Repeat artists, recognized the potential in this chair which had seen better days. She made repairs and gave it a make-over. In the process, she turned it into a treasure…again! Sandy also created the first art chair we posted on this blog, which is now sold.
The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
So said Pablo Picasso, and we couldn’t agree more! It’s in this spirit that we have recently (yesterday, in fact) reorganized our art and craft supply area. You’ll find it easier to sort through the goods, and you’ll also see the occasional display sample of what can be made with treasures from our craft stash. We carry the usual and the unusual, including plenty of found art supplies. So for all you artists who are Elite Repeat regulars (we know who you are!)–this is for you!
The alley behind our store is occasionally partially blocked due to renovations in the next building, however… we are still taking donations, and our end of the alley is accessible. Please drive right up to our back door during business hours if you have something you would like to drop off. We’ll be happy to help you back out or turn around so you can make a graceful exit.
Our intake is low right now, and we could use your help. Probably due to the extreme heat, there are fewer yard sales, nobody is cleaning out their attics and garages, and who wants to load the car in this weather? On the other hand, this is the ideal time to get your closets organized, redecorate the guest room or downsize and simplify. And what about those unfinished craft projects that have been hanging over your head for years? Send them in! We’ll make use of them.
Getting rid of things is good for the heart, mind and soul. It’s also good for Elite Repeat. We thrive on your donations and look forward to seeing you!
Talent runs rampant among Elite Repeat’s volunteers, and this chair is an excellent example. One of our gifted artists took an old chair and gave it new life. It’s the only one of its kind, and it’s waiting for you–the accent piece you’ve been looking for.
Roses, white wicker, etched crystal, dusty gold and pink times ten. This is one of the tablescapes you’ll see this week at Elite Repeat. You’ll also notice markdowns on some of the china collections, certain large pieces of furniture and housewares.
Elite Repeat will be closed on Monday, July 4, but here’s something you’ll find for sale on Tuesday morning.
In 1968 and 1972 Kleenex Tissue Co. reproduced political campaign buttons from years past. They’re not nearly as valuable as the authentic buttons, but they’re every bit as interesting. They’ll be available at the shop in the coming week.
